 's widely popular annual Summer Reading Game kicks off on Friday\, June 21
 \, with a performance by the local Scarsdale band\, Miss Gigi and the Lend
  Me a Hand Band\, which features interactive songs and musical games.</spa
 n><br /><br /><span style='font-size: 10pt\;'>The kick-off will be held at
  the Scarsdale Library on Olmsted Road from 3:00 to 3:45 pm. No reservatio
 ns are required.</span><br /><br /><span style='font-size: 10pt\;'>The Sum
 mer Reading Game encourages children from infants through 4th grade to rea
 d or be read to during the summer months. Awards are given based on the nu
 mber of books read or listened to. After two books\, the participating chi
 ldren receive a sticker\, after five books\, they can dig into the 'Treasu
 re Chest' for a fun prize and after 20 books they receive a book. To encou
 rage the children to come to the library\, they receive a raffle ticket ev
 ery time for a drawing for a $5 certificate at Haagen Daz\, donated by the
  local ice-cream store.</span><br /><br /><span style='font-size: 10pt\;'>
 'When the children come to the library\, we like to have them discuss the 
 books they have read with a librarian or have someone read a book to them\
 ,' says Karen Zielinski\, head of Youth Services. 'The program has also be
 come family event with older children reading to their younger siblings.'<
 /span><br /><br /><span style='font-size: 10pt\;'>Online registration begi
 ns on June 21. Parents or children should go to the library website\, <a h
 ref='http://www.scarsdalelibrary.org'>www.scarsdalelibrary.org</a>\, and c

 6 to 7 PM and 7 to 8 PM at the Middle School Tennis Courts. Each team matc
 h will consist of a singles match and a first doubles and second doubles m

 ester's leading sports training facility\, will launch its Summer Tots pro
 gramming with a Tots Summer Festival on Saturday\, January 29 for children
  ages 2-4. The festival is free and open to the public\, and takes place a
 t the House of Sports from 10:30 a.m. to Noon. The event futures a samplin
 g of the summer Tots curriculum\, including Soccer Tots\, All Star Slugger
 s (baseball)\, Lil' Pigskins (football)\, Hoopsters Tots (basketball) and 
 Tumble Tots.<br /><br />Children and their parents will have the opportuni
 ty to meet the House of Sports Tots instructors and get a better understan
 ding of the goals of the program. The Tots sports programming uses a varie
 ty of fun and games to delight and engage young children in physical activ
