On Friday 9/24 Scarsdale Police Chief John Brogan announced the arrest of six more Yonkers’ residents in connection with the attack that took place in Scarsdale Village in the early morning hours of August 19th.
According to the police report, “Two passengers who exited a Metro North train at the Scarsdale station were attacked by seven individuals armed with a baseball bat and a tire iron. The two victims of the attack were aided be several other passengers who also exited the train in defending themselves from the attackers.” The incident began with a run-in at Grand Central, continued on the train and culminated in the fight that took place on East Parkway in Scarsdale after the victims and several assailants exited the train. From the train the suspects called in additional people to aid in the attack and they convened in Scarsdale around 2 am on August 19th.
On Friday, it was announced that the following suspects were charged:
- Mohammad F. Qawasmi, 19 years old, of Yonkers, NY was charged with attempted assault 3rd degree, a misdemeanor.

- Mohammad Alsharif, 21 years old, of Yonkers, NY was charged with attempted assault 3rd degree, a misdemeanor.
- Two 18 year olds from Yonkers were charged Attempted Assault 3rd degree, a misdemeanor.
- Two 17 year-olds from Yonkers, NY were charged with attempted assault 3rd degree, a misdemeanor.
